The Heart’s Burden and Gift

Though it is merely beautiful, it appears so melancholy
ただ美しいだけなのに、悲しげに見えたり

Though it simply glows there, it feels so precious
ただそこに灯っているだけなのに、ありがたく感じたり

Is it because we know we’ll lose it that beauty becomes so sorrowful?
失うとわかっていると、美しいほどに悲しいのか

Is it because we know we’ll lose it that we understand its true worth?
失うとわかっているからこそ、そのありがたさが分かるのか、

Having a heart is such a burden… yet without one, life would surely be so dull
心があるというのは煩わしいなぁ でも心がなかったらきっとつまらないなぁ
